January 2017 Favourites

Hi guys, this is my first favourites ever on my blog and my January favourites consists of makeup, skincare, and some other random things. 

Makeup

Primer– Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, this has made my foundation go on really nicely and it makes my foundation last a bit longer. 

Foundation– Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation although it’s a matte finish, it is FULL Coverage and that is what I look for in a foundation. 

Concealer– Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. It’s full coverage and it doesn’t crease. The only downside to it is the availability of the product. 

Powder– Maybelline Fit Me Powder and Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Powder. This keeps me Matte for most of the day and I only need to top up once. 
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder- this is perfect for setting my concealer that I have under my eyes. 

Contour– Iconic London Cream Contour Kit, this product is so creamy and easy to blend out. 

I also have been loving the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder. The colour has amounted of coolness, it’s not too cool that it look ashy on me. 

Highlight– Jeffree Star Highlight in King Tut, this is an amazing gold highlight and the packaging is massive so you get so much product. 

Sleek Cleopatra Kiss highlight palette, this has two powders and two cream highlights, which are super pigmented. And it is affordable. 

MUA luxe gleam powder in gold, this is a loose powder but make look like that you have a healthy glow. 

Eyeshadow- Morphe 35F palette 

Tarte in the bloom palette

These two palettes have amazing Matte shades and Shimmery shades. And they all blend really well together and they are very Pigmented. 

Setting Spray- urban decay All Nighter Setting Spray, it make my makeup last for a good amount of time. 

Lips- Colourpop Ultra Satin Lips in point zero, it’s very moisturising and it’s a great colour. 

Tools: Black Beauty Blender 

This makes my foundation look flawless and it helps me avoid a cakey base. 

Morphe M530 brush- this blends my contour really well. 

Zoeva Fan Brush- this applies my highlight so well and it look like that I am really glowy. 

Skincare

Moisturiser – yes to tomatoes Moisturiser this helps balance out my combination skin and acne. 

Serum- L’Oréal Paris Dermo Expertise Skin Perfection serum- this helps with texture and its affordable. 

Body Lotion- Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion, this helps with my dry skin especially during the winter.

Purple Eye Makeup Look- Perfect For When You Go Out

This look is inspired by the Morphe Pressed Pigment in Designer Everything. 

1. I start off with applying the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer as an Eyeshadow base on my eyes. 

2. I then set my eyes with my Laura Mercier Translucent loose setting powder. This makes my eyeshadow blend really nicely. 

3. 

I used the light brown shade as my first transition shade. I applied this in my upper crease. 

4. I then applied the first shade in the bottom row in my crease, then the next shade over and next shade over. I really blended all these shades together. 

5. I applied the darkest shade on my outer v, this gave my look the smokey effect. And I packed it on to my outer v and the blended it slowly. 

6. I then used a light brown shade to blend all the shades together. 

7. On my lid, I used a Morphe Pressed Pigment in the shade design everything. I used a synthetic brush sprayed with Mac fix plus. The mac fix plus spray makes the colour pop on my eye lid. 

9. I packed this colour on my lid, leaving my inner corner. I applied the third shade on the first row onto my inner corner. This makes my eyes look awake.

My Updated Current Makeup Routine

1. To start off my day, after I’ve had a shower I Moisturise with my Yes To Tomatoes Moisturiser. 

2. To prime my face I use the smashbox photo finish Primer. I use a pea size amount and apply onto my t-zone. 

3. I apply one pump of foundation onto my skin and blend out with my beauty blender. I am currently using the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation. I am currently using the shade 8.75 as I have a tan. I usually use the shade 7.75. 

4. I then apply Concealer under my eyes, the center of my forehead, the bridge of my nose, my chin and on any blemishes. I use the Urban Decay Naked Concealer in the shade medium dark neutral. I also blend out my concealer with the beauty blender. 

5. To set my face I use the Mac Cosmetics Mineralize Skin Finish in the shade Dark Tan. The brush I use to set my under eyes is. And the brush I use to set my face is the Morphe brushes elite II E2 brush. 

6. To contour I use a mixture of makeup geek contour powder in the shade half hearted and kevyn aucoin sculpting powder in medium. I Sculpt out my cheekbones and jawline. I use a morphe 530 brush to contour my face. 

7. To highlight the tops of my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, Cupid’s bow and brow bone, I alternate between a few products. Those products are the Becca cosmetics Jaclyn Hill palette, Jeffree Star Highlight in King Tut, Laura Geller in gilded honey and Ofra Cosmetics in blissful. I use a real techniqus setting brush. And a Zoeva fan brush. 

8. To fill in eyebrows, I use the ABH Brow Definer in the shade ebony. I fill in the the last half of my brow. As I already have  thick eyebrows. To set my brows in place I  currently use the L’Oréal Brow plumper gel. 

9. For my eyelashes, I curl them and apply one coat of the L’Oréal False Lash Sculpt Mascara  and Maybelline Lash Sensational on my top and bottom lashes. 

10. For my lips, I use the Kylie Cosmetics lip kit in brown sugar. 

11. I then use a setting spray to lock everything in place. I use the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

Top 5 Liquid Lipsticks

From Left to Right- Kylie Cosmetics in Brown Sugar, Colourpop in Point Zero, Huda Beauty in Spice Girl, Jeffree Star Cosmetics in Posh Spice and Kat Von D in Bow n Arrow. 

What I recommend before wearing a liquid lipstick: 

Make sure you scrub your lips gently so the liquid lipstick doesn’t hang on the dryness. 

1. Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit- Brown Sugar

This is the perfect brown tone nude for my skin tone. It also comes with a matching lip liner. The liquid lipstick drys to a matte finish and it doesn’t make my lips look dry. This lasts a good 5 hours on my lips 

2. Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip- Point Zero 

This is a grey tone Nude on my skin tone. Also it’s a Satin Lip so it doesn’t dry matte. It is also very affordable. It lasts a few hours on my lips. 

3. Huda Beauty -Spice Girl

Brown tone Nude liquid lipstick. I love the formula of this liquid lipstick, it’s so moisturising and it doesn’t look dry on my lips. This lasts a good 5 hours on my lips. 

4. Kat Von D- Bow n Arrow 

This is a beige brown tone nude that drys to a matte finish. And it lasts a good 6 hours on my lips. It does not look dry on my lips. 

5. Jeffree Star Cosmetics – Posh Spice

This is a grey tone nude. It is a very moisturising and it lasts a good 5 hours on my lips.

My Favourite Morphe Brushes

These are my favourite Morphe Brushes for the face: 

E2- I love this brush for my powder. It picks up the perfect amount of powder. And the brush is so soft. 

E26- This brush is double ended. I use this brush to apply my foundation and concealer. 

R4- I use this brush to apply my blush or I even use it to contour. 

R14- I use this brush to contour and this brush does it so well. 

M530- I also use this brush too contour. 

M439- I use this brush to buff in my foundation. 

M444- I use this brush to apply powder on my nose and smile lines.

M441- I use this brush to blend eyeshadow in the crease. 

R11- I use this brush to set my cream eyeshadow base.  

E30- I use this brush to pack on eyeshadow on my outer corner of my eye.

R35- I use this brush to blend out the eyeshadow on my lower lash line.

What’s In My Makeup Bag When I’m On Holiday?
